The REACH program at West Village is located in the Community Room at West Village Apartments, an apartment complex on West Hill, along Route 79. We work with 15-20 children ages 6-15, split into the Cloverbud group (ages 6-9) and the Pre-teen/Teen group (ages 10-15). This semester, the program schedule is
Monday-Thursday
Ages 5-8 meet from 2:30-4:00
Ages 9-13 meet from 4:00-5:30
During a typical day, the children come and we have snack time in the Community Room. Afterward, those who have homework stay in the Community Room to complete it, while those who do not have homework that day go upstairs to the library for reading. Tutors are definitely needed for both groups! Finally, all the children come together to participate in a group activity, such as arts and crafts, cooking, or a science experiment. All the children in this program are residents of West Village Apartments, so they can just walk back to their homes when program is over.
West Village is accessible by TCAT bus: take the 10 or 30 bus to the Seneca St. Commons (in front of the large parking structure downtown next to Starbucks), and then take the 1:27pm Bus 14 to Elm St/West Village, arriving there at around 1:45pm. Carpooling may also be available, but that is TBD.
